Alex Vega is a law firm consultant focusing on the development of law students and solo attorneys interested in establishing and successfully marketing and managing a law practice.
Alex was one of those kids that knew what he wanted to do: he was going to go into business for himself. His business education started at an early age while working along side his dad on the family farm in Puerto Rico. His mother tells stories of how his dad had to sneak out the home before sunrise just so the baby (Alex) wouldn't cry to go. Inseparable from his dad, he always found the way to tag along. Alex recalls many conversations with his father about life and business.
At an early age, his parents instilled in him the importance of hard work and altruism. He is grateful for this beautiful gift which he has treasured and will pass on to his children. Attending various schools, both in Massachusetts and Puerto Rico, has helped Alex acquire a unique understanding of individuals and the ability to identify there needs.
His passion for business and seeing others succeed was something that continued while he worked in the electronic technical industry. In 2000, he encouraged his wife, Betzy, to open her own law practice. A task he promised she wouldn't have to accomplish alone. Accepting the challenge, Alex shifted his attention to the support and structural development of the Law Offices of Bethzaida Sanabria-Vega, P.C. For the next 10 years, he was invaluable in providing business guidance and developing the law firm into one of the most recognized small law practices in Western Massachusetts. His research of the local market and in-depth understanding of consumers also helped establish the law firm within the Latino market, where they were considered the "go to" law firm.
A few years after helping establish and successfully manage the law firm, attorneys took notice of the success of the practice and sought out his advice on various office management solutions. Alex observed that one challenge shared by many lawyers was the inability to properly start and manage their business. Alex began to see a need in the marketplace and set his sights on creating a solution. This naturally led him to consulting with other attorneys who also had the desire to start and run a successful practice; this also led to the formation of the The Vega Firm.
Alex also has a sense of humor. He occasionally likes to share how he worked himself out of his best client. A few years back, he was given the task to assist his wife, Bethzaida Sanabria-Vega, reach one of her dreams, becoming a judge. In August of 2010, that was accomplished and he found himself with one of his major professional accomplishments.
He is a strong believer that law schools do a fine job fulfilling their obligation of teaching the law. However, in his opinion, that's half the battle and they are missing the mark of teaching students the emotional side of the practice of law. His business passion is to assist law students and attorneys on the development of the human skills needed to better serve their clients and the community while coaching them on marketing and managing a law practice. His professional and life experience gives him the ability to guide others on how to be an empathetic respected attorney.
